Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q -How does a FGI report compare to a traditional report? A -The vast differences between the FGI report and Traditional report can be found by following this link Compare FGI and CMM. Q -What CAD platforms do AcuSurf model in? A -Pro/E- up to Wildfire 2.0 and Solidworks- up to 2005 Q -What is surface interferometry? A -The process of measuring surfaces typically at the nanometer level. This non-contact method can be employed to measure the following sample types: opaque, transparent, smooth, and rough. Common products inspected include: Optics, fibers, film, paper, and precision machined surfaces. Q -What is computered tomography?
A -The
process of using digital processing to generate a
three-dimensional image of the internal and external
portions of an object from a large series of
two-dimensional x-ray images taken around a single axis
of rotation. The x-ray slice data is generated using an
X-ray source that rotates around the object; X-ray
sensors are positioned on the opposite side of the
circle from the X-ray source. Many data scans are
progressively taken as the object is gradually passed
through the gantry.
A -A 3D
photograph containing an object's color, texture, and 3D
shape. This information can be used for taking
measurements, comparing Q –What is structured white light? A –Click here
