- Physical Object:
- Start with a physical product with either no CAD data or "design
creep".
- What's design creep? Design creep is defined as a product that has
gone through physical changes but hasn't been updated in the 3D CAD
model and 2D associative drawings

- Scan Data:
- 3D Scanning technology creates a dense, measured point cloud of the
product. A typical point cloud
has between 100,000 to 5,000,000 highly accurate, measured points.
- We use the scanner best fit to do the job. The types of scanners we
employ include: White light, Laser, CT, and Cross sectional. Some of the variables we consider when
selecting a scanner is: part size, accuracy, type of material, and
atomic density.

- CAD Modeling:
- We take designing quality in our CAD models very seriously. Designing for manufacturability is of
the utmost concern. For instance,
plastic injection molded products always include proper draft, radii,
constant wall thicknesses, and parting line.
- Our models are intuitive and built with design intent. This means we always utilize best CAD
design practices such as: feature hierarchy. We start by building the main features
and finish in order from draft to radii to machining features. Our assemblies contain top-down
assembly management.
- All comprehensive engineering data is provided in either Pro/E or
SolidWorks.

- FGI Reporting:
- We always validate our Reverse Engineering projects with our FGI
reporting. This ensures that the
customer is receiving a quality product within the tolerance dictated.
- The customer can opt to obtain a hard copy of a FGI report for review.
These can be as simple as a few color maps to a full First Article
report.
